"Damn! They got Kira!" Dida shouted.

"Concentrate! We're already halfway there! We'll have to push through without her!" Sorria shouted back.

I looked up at the hill and indeed, we were only about halfway up to the boss.

I will admit that they were doing better than I thought they would. I was already thinking that they would be held back by the first wave and we'll need to step in at the very start.

If we weren't here, these girls might actually stand a chance to beat the boss by themselves since I assume the number of minotaurs that the boss would summon would be halved.

While I was thinking about that, Eins, Zwei and Drei went ahead to wipe out the remaining minotaurs, prompting the next wave to be summoned higher up the hill.

Once again, the summoned monsters were Minotaur Guards but instead of standing in a line and holding their ground, they started advancing towards us instead.

Despite losing their tank, Sorria still met their advance fearlessly with her swords held at her sides.

Dida was already shooting her arrows at the lead minotaur while Tensay was busy chanting another spell behind her.

The lead minotaur became pissed at the arrows being shot at him and let out a roar of rage before charging forward, separating himself from the rest of the minotaurs.

That was what Sorria was aiming for as she lowered herself into a stance to face the charging minotaur.

She raised one of her swords to be perpendicular to the charging minotaur while her other sword was pulled back as though she was preparing to stab the monster.

Right as the tip of the halberd was almost upon Sorria, she tensed up her body and let out a roar.

"[Perfect Counter]!"

Her figure blurred and the minotaur's halberd was suddenly deflected up into the air, right before Sorria's figure came back into focus where she was thrusting her sword to the minotaur's throat.

He didn't even get to react as the blade struck his neck, the blade piercing through skin and muscle as it embedded itself in his throat.

It let out a strangled cry and tried to bring its halberd down on the Mahun in front of him but he was too slow as Sorria had already leapt to the side to avoid it. ℝàNƟꞖË𝐬

She knew that would not have been enough to kill it so she followed up the attack with another slash at the minotaur's throat, slicing a large gash on the monster.

The minotaur dropped his halberd and held his throat in a panic to stem the blood that was gushing out of it, only for his head to be pierced by a lightning rod shot by Tensay.

Sorria leapt back as the lightning rod activated its effect and a streak of lightning shot out from the tip of the rod to strike another minotaur that had tried to save its comrade by charging at Sorria.

The spell paralysed the monster and Sorria moved in to eviscerate him with her blades, her swords a flurry of silver as she sliced up the Minotaur Guard.

Dida switched her target to another Minotaur guard at the back but right as she drew her bow again, something suddenly flew forward and struck her in the chest.

She gasped and looked down, realising that a spear had impaled her.

The archer was then engulfed in light before she was teleported to the space beside Hida, also strung up in chains.

Sorria and Tensay looked back at their archer in shock before turning to look at the monster that threw the spear.

Instead of a minotaur, we found a goblin standing there with an outstretched and empty hand.

Just as I thought it was the goblin that threw it, a Minotaur Guard stepped out beside him, snorting in satisfaction.

Looks like the spear belonged to the goblin but the minotaur took it from him and threw it at Dida.

Also… It looks like not only Minotaur Guards were being summoned, but Goblins have also joined in the summoning pool.

And here I thought things couldn't get any more annoying…

Sorria looked up at the overwhelming number of monsters bearing down on them before turning to me.

"Aster… I apologise but it seems like I may have overestimated ourselves… I might not even be able to get you to the top of the hill…"

Before I could respond, she had already turned back to face the monsters with her swords extended to both sides.

"But I will at least get you three quarters of the way! Tensay!!"

The mage immediately started chanting while Sorria charged towards the remaining Minotaur Guards, heedless of the clear disparity in numbers and strength.

"[Lightning Clad]!"

Tensay's spell activated and Sorria's body was now clad in a layer of electricity.

Right after that, another spear was hurled by the minotaur and the poor mage could not even dodge it before she got impaled by it.

"Ahh… Well… I was out of mana anyway…" Tensay groaned, right before she disappeared in a flash of light.

Sorria did not grieve over the last of her party being wiped as she leapt into the air and let out a roar, "[Heavy Crash]!"

Her body glowed red before suddenly transforming into a streak of red light that smashed into the crowd of Minotaur Guards.

There was an explosion of electricity and smoke which was then followed by the sound of metal hitting against metal before the area was filled with flashes of light.

The remaining Minotaur Guards were sliced apart by the flashes of light, leaving Sorria standing in an empty space where the monsters had previously been standing.

"Ahhh… As I thought… This skill hurts…" Sorria muttered as the smoke cleared, revealing wounds all over her body.

She slowly turned towards the newly summoned monsters which consisted of eight more Minotaur Guards and each of them was being accompanied by two Goblins.

"Damn… This Dungeon… Is so unfair… How are you even… Supposed to complete this?"

She tried to take a step forward before stumbling over, barely managing to stop herself from falling by stabbing her sword into the ground to use as a crutch.

"Ahh… I… Don't think I can go on anymore, Aster… Sorry, but… This is as far as I can go…" She gasped.

I nodded at her, "Don't worry, you can leave the rest to me."

She gave me a smile before she was enveloped in a flash of light, disappearing from in front of me.

I took her place and stood in front of the crowd of monsters with my Shadow Guards flanking me.

Another spear was thrown and I snatched it out of the air, stopping it from impaling my head.

With a deft flick of my hand, the spear was sent flying back to impale the Minotaur that threw it, piercing through his head and completely blowing the head apart.

"Guess you guys are stuck with me now… How should I fight up this hill? Should I… Oh, I know!"

With a mental command, I got Eins and the other two to buff me with [Strength] before I kicked off the ground, my new strength allowing me to close the distance between me and the monsters in an instant.

The Minotaur Guard that I ended up in front of only had time to flinch from my sudden appearance before I used [Body Current] on my fist.

My Shadow Guards also added their own [Body Current] on me as well and-- ARRGGHHH!! That freaking hurts!!

I managed to bite through the pain of having so many layers of buffs on one part of my body and punched forward.

My fist made contact with the Minotaur Guard's torso and the world around seemed to go silent for a moment right before a huge explosion came from the impact.

The punch disintegrated the monsters in my immediate vicinity and blew away all the other monsters, leaving no one else left standing aside from me.

Totally worth it.

I straightened myself right as the next group of monsters were summoned at the top of the hill.

This group had three Minotaur Captains, five Minotaur Guards and about twenty Goblins.

Damn… They really aren't holding back huh?

Now I believe that they weren't just looking at the number of party members but also the relative strength of the party as well to determine how many monsters to summon.

I'm guessing that was the last group and defeating them should open the way to the final boss of this Dungeon.

The small army of monsters were looking down at us with a look of superiority, most likely believing that we stood no chance of winning.

Well… Two can play at that game.

"Come forth~"

Twenty five more Shadow Guards appeared from my Shadow, joining Eins, Zwei and Drei to form a battle line in front of me.

The looks on the monsters' faces immediately changed and some of them even took a step back in fear.

Too late for you guys to regret now. Not like you guys can do anything about it anyway~

I raised my hand into the air before swinging it down to point at the top of the hill.

All of my Shadow Guards charged.
