"Alright, let's make this clear again. This is a duel of martial skill so no magic is involved and we will only compete in unarmed combat, correct?" I droned, trying my best to keep the irritation out of my voice.

Haddock nodded, "That's right."

"And for this duel, you have made the wager that if you were to win, I will have to stay away from Odeta for the rest of the time when we are in school?"

"That's right. And if you win, I will publicly apologise for my attitude towards you and admit that I have completely misunderstood you."

Honestly, I don't even care if he apologised or not… I just want this to be over and done with.

The fact that their enmity was all due to a misunderstanding was just stupid.

"As for the rules… First one to be unable to continue fighting either by being knocked out or voluntarily surrendering will be declared the loser?" I clarified.

"That's right. As long as both parties are still able to fight, the fight will go on!"

I shrugged, "Very well then. I'm ready when you are. Come at me whenever."

He rolled up his sleeves and handed his sword over to one of his boys before turning back to face me with a determined expression on his face.

He raised his eyebrow when he saw that I was just standing there with my hands behind my back, "Are you not going to get ready?"

I tilted my head at him, "Did you not hear what I said earlier? I said I'm ready when you are. Just come at me."

He gritted his teeth, "Are you looking down on me?"

"Hmm? I'm not sure why you would think that was the case? I'm just simply stronger than you."

He let out a roar and charged at me with his fists raised.

Damn… That was enough to trigger you? Really? You still have a lot to learn then…

Then again… He's still young so he has time to learn… Am I being a bit too harsh on him?

Nah~

Seriously, it's not like I've not fought them before so I don't know why he even thought he stood a chance in a duel with me?

He charged towards me and tried to punch me in the face, so I simply lifted my hand and caught his fist the moment he got into range.

His eyes widened from the punch while I was just wondering why he was so surprised by this. Was it because he thought all of my strength comes purely from my magic?

I guess he was partially correct since I wouldn't be able to reduce the minotaur into a bloody mist if I didn't buff myself but I would still have been able to beat it without using that…

Whatever, I guess I have to make sure he understands the difference in our strengths then…

I tightened my grip on the fist that I caught before lifting him up and tossing him aside.

The poor boy got sent flying away before crashing onto the ground and rolling a short distance away.

He quickly got up to a knee and raised his hands defensively, expecting me to rush after him to strike him while he was recovering, only to see that I was still standing at the exact same place. ꭆ𝘼Ꞑȏ𝖇ЕṦ

With deliberate slowness, I retracted my hand and placed it behind my back once again.

He probably realised what I was trying to do but that only got him even more pissed as he charged at me once again, this time attempting a flying kick.

I waited until he got within range again before quickly reaching up to grab him by his ankles before throwing him to the other side, the boy finding himself tumbling back onto the ground again.

He got up to a knee once again and looked up to see that I was still standing at the exact same spot with my hands behind my back.

Yes. I'm going to beat him without taking a single step from where I am standing right now.

Disrespectful?

Definitely.

But that's what this guy gets for being such a pain in the ass. He needs to know that I won't let him off easily after pissing me off like that.

Once again, he charged towards me and I was wondering if he really was just going to keep throwing himself at me expecting a different outcome.

Surprisingly, he actually stopped just short of me to do a sliding kick towards my feet. Discover exclusive content at m,v l'-NovelBin.net

Ah, I guess his objective has changed from beating me to forcing me to move, which would in turn embarrass me more than him.

Alright, I'll admit that he was using his head at least, but too bad for him I had another way to deal with an attack like that.

As he got closer, something smashed against the side of his face which sent him barrelling through the air for the third time today.

He was so confused by what happened that he didn't immediately jump up to his feet like before and laid there for a moment before finally pushing himself up on an elbow to see what happened.

The 'something' that hit him turned out to be my tail which I waved lazily in the air, making sure he saw it before I let it slither back under my dress.

I then raised an eyebrow at him, as though asking if he actually forgot I was a Meslatar and not a Mahun.

His brows furrowed and he quickly jumped up to his feet again, this time approaching me slowly instead of rushing at me.

I watched him closely, wondering what plan he had this time.

Just as I wondered if he was expecting to be able to just walk up to me to keep my guard down, he stopped just out of reach.

I tilted my head at him, "Are you giving up?"

Instead of answering, he flung his arm towards me and I realised he just threw a piece of stone he had hidden in his fist at me.

I'm guessing he must have sneakily picked that up while he was standing up just now.

I raised my hand to smack it away with the back of my hand and he took advantage of that by lunging towards me, expecting to be able to get past my guard while I was distracted by the stone.

Really boy… It might work if you were a little bit faster but I'm sorry to tell you that not only are you too slow to take advantage of a tactic like that, but I was also expecting it so I was already prepared for it.

As his fist travelled towards my face, the corners of his lips were curling up into a smile, thinking that his plan worked.

His smile quickly froze when my other hand appeared and grabbed his wrist, stopping his fist just short of reaching my face.

His eyes went wide when he saw the hand that I had used to smack his rock away reversing back towards his face and all he could do was tense up before I slapped him away.

Haddock was sent rolling away this time and I remained where I was, returning my hands behind my back.

His patience must have reached its limit because he leapt back on his feet to roar at me, "Do you have to humiliate me like this?! Fight me seriously!"

"You are too weak for me to fight against seriously," I explained, still not moving from my original spot.

"Aghhhh!!" He screamed, lunging towards me once again.

He really is quite easy to trigger huh? He really should fix that as soon as he can because that doesn't help him at all in a fight…

I think I've done enough to humiliate him already so I guess we can just end this here…

He tried to punch me in the abdomen and this time, I did not stop him and allowed his fist to connect while I tensed my body up.

His fist hit me with a loud smack, only for him to take a step back from the impact while I took no damage.

He blinked at me, only to resolve himself to try again, punching his other fist forward to smack against my abdomen once more but only to achieve the same result.

I think at this point he finally realised that he stood no chance of winning from the start so I went ahead to punch him across the chin, the boy's eyes rolling to the back of his head before he even hit the ground with a soft thump.

I looked at the unconscious boy on the ground with dispassionate eyes before looking up at our audience, all the boys now looking at me with a mix of awe and fear.

Yep… I beat your leader without even taking a step. I trust that shows that I'm definitely not all talk now, am I right?

Ugh… Now I feel mentally exhausted… I want some sweets…
