Splitting the Heavens

Chapter 1395: Meeting Beast Warriors Again

On their way back to the Heaven Observation Field, Song Zhen split off with the rest of them and brought the abandoned experts of the Wanyun Association back to the Ruined Market of the Sea of Stars.

Song Zhen needed to repair it there, and he needed to find a place to settle those experts down. He needed to get them new identities to prevent his connection to Shang Xia from being exposed. After leaving them there, he returned alone to the Spirit Ark and assisted Shang Xia in bringing it back to the Spirit Luxuriant World.

Song Zhen wasn’t afraid that those members would run away after he left. After all, if Shang Xia wasn’t adept at controlling cultivators who had submitted, he wouldn’t have been serving Shang Xia so faithfully the whole time.

After Song Zhen returned, Shang Xia and the others weren’t too far away from the Essence Du World.

Because of their experience, they weren’t strangers when traveling through the region of space. With Yan Ming, their Stargazer, the journey went pretty smoothly.

It was a shame they weren’t as lucky this time. 2 Star Beasts rushed at their Spirit Ark.

This time, Shang Xia didn’t do anything. Even Song Zhen didn’t move. Instead, the many Martial Dipper Realm experts of the Tongyou Institution started to make preparations to defend the Spirit Ark.

Only after reaching the Martial Void Realm would one be able to travel through the chaotic streams with ease. Martial Dipper Realm experts might be able to withstand the chaotic streams, but they couldn’t travel however they liked. They would only be able to hover about at best.

Also, if ordinary first and second tier True Immortals ran around randomly and was swept away by a stray current, they might not be able to find their way back.

As the Martial Dipper Realm experts of the Tongyou Institution remained in the safety of the Spirit Ark, all of them could feel the rocking of the ark from the deck.

There, the feeling was completely different to the time they were hiding in the safety of the ship. They could feel how dangerous the chaotic streams were.

In such circumstances, protecting themselves wasn’t going to be easy. Defending against the attacks of 2 Star Beasts was going to be even more difficult.

Shang Xia was planning to train them, but he wasn’t planning to let them die randomly! He would step in if things got out of hand.

During the entire process, Shang Xia didn’t give those on board any instructions. He simply passed his responsibility to Song Zhen as he released his divine soul to observe the void further away.

As soon as the Star Beasts appeared, Shang Xia discovered the presence of hidden Beast Warriors. There was no way Star Beasts would be able to choose such a perfect time and coordinate with each other when attacking.

Compared to the danger they were facing from the Star Beasts, Shang Xia was more concerned about how the situation would change with regards to the Essence Du World.

Those Star Beasts only had strength at the initial stages of the sixth rank, and even though they could reveal their might in the chaotic streams, Shang Xia could tell that the Beast Warrior controlling them was not that strong.

However, for a Beast Warrior to appear in the vicinity of the Essence Du World, Shang Xia wondered if more would come. He also knew that those Beast Warriors might be a part of a group and he really didn’t know what their true motive was.

Shang Xia didn’t forget that there were still Beast Warriors in the depths of the sea in the Spirit Luxuriant World and was causing trouble for the major sects there.

As the Star Beasts continued to fly around the ark, they started to launch attacks from time to time.

The experts of the institution worked together pretty well. With the battle formation the institution passed down, along with the protection formation on the ship, they fought the Star Beasts off. Even Song Zhen couldn’t help but praise them. In the Chaotic Sea of Stars, he rarely saw cultivators at their level so powerful. ℞ᴀɴȎΒЕṤ

From that point alone, it seemed like the elite disciples of the Tongyou Institution weren't that far off from the elite disciples of the great powers in the sea of stars.

The next second, Song Zhen felt a faint spatial fluctuation coming from behind him and just as he was about to turn back, Shang Xia disappeared from the ship.

Song Zhen looked around, trying to learn what was causing the disturbance.

However, before he could feel anything, the Star Beasts turned around and started to flee.

“Heh? Do you really think you can come and go as you please?” Song Zhen sneered before preparing to leave the ship.

The next second, Shang Xia’s voice rang in his mind. “Don’t. Be careful. They might be trying to lure you out.”

A chill ran down Song Zhen’s heart. He was a Star Pirate at the end of the day and his expression didn’t change too much. Spatial fluctuations appeared around him and his aura rose into the air slightly before disappearing.

With the only 2 True Immortals on board taking their leave, the cultivators on board didn’t show any sign of fear. They controlled the Spirit Ark to hover in its place and wait for their return.

Not too long after Song Zhen’s aura disappeared, a Star Beast that was running made a sharp turn and rushed back towards the Spirit Ark.

Yan Ming discovered it the moment it moved and quickly warned the rest.

The Martial Dipper Realm experts on board weren’t able to observe the chaotic streams around the ark as clearly as Shang Xia and they failed to move away from the charging beast.

Everyone knew that without the protection of a True Immortal, the moment an Ark was damaged, everyone on board would be dead. As such, they might as well take the charge head on and try to injure the Star Beast the best they could in order to find a chance to live.

The Martial Extermination Realm cultivators on board weren’t able to take part in the operation of attacking the beasts while taking its charge as they had to control the ship. Also, they wouldn’t be able to hurt rank six Star Beast in the slightest.

Despite suffering injuries all over its body, the Star Beast continued to barrel towards the Spirit Ark.

Right before the protection barrier around the ark could be torn open, a burst of multicolored light emerged from above the ship. It started to spread at a shocking speed and swallowed the Spirit Ark along with the Star beast. Even the chaotic streams failed to shatter the multicolored light.

“I’ll leave this beast to you. As long as you don’t leave this cloud created by the strange light, do whatever you want.” Song Zhen’s voice rang in the ears of the Martial Dipper Realm experts present.

Before their eyes, the Star Beast became a mouse trapped in a maze in the multicolored cloud. It looked like it was rushing aggressively at them, but it started to spin around in circles.

With Song Zhen’s reminder, it was time for them to make use of the chance to kill the rank six Star Beast!

Looking at the Spirit Ark and Star Beast covered in the multicolored cloud, Song Zhen turned to look into the depths of the void and rushed to where Shang Xia left earlier.

He didn’t travel too far when he felt a familiar aura descending. He noticed everything in front of him freezing as even the chaotic streams stopped moving.

Feeling the solid space around him, he didn’t try to break it open. Instead, he peered deeper.

Soon after, he saw a region of frozen space shattering, and the speed at which the region of space was being destroyed grew rapidly.

Without a second thought, he turned to flee.

Not long after he left, a formless shockwave spread through the entire region. Even the massive body of a Star Beast was sent flying along with it. The half of the body that was thrown through the void started to break down rapidly.

Song Zhen returned to the safety of the Myriad Tinted Cloud Talisman and watched as the shockwave smashed into it.

As he turned around in shock, he saw the last few parts of the beast turn to dust from the impact. The multicolored cloud also started to slowly dissipate.

Shocked, he wanted to rush back to the ship to stabilize it. Otherwise, if another shockwave of that level smashed into the ship, it would be sent flying god knew how far away.

Before he could return to the ship, Shang Xia was already standing there waiting for him.

The moment he saw Shang Xia, Song Zhen knew that he was worried for nothing. There was no way they would be sent tumbling through the void.
