Immortal of the Ages

Chapter 875: The Name Seems Familiar?

Outside the Extreme Yin Star, an army of geniuses soared across the starry void and descended with imposing grandeur.

These young prodigies, renowned throughout the Heavenly Deity Stellar River, were rising stars on the Immortal path. Brimming with youthful vigor, they were in the prime of their lives.

It was evident that, regardless of their status, a hint of arrogance shone in their eyes.

As these geniuses arrived outside the Extreme Yin Star, more kindred spirits joined them along the way, following the Young Dragon Lord to become part of the crusade against the Harmony Divine Palace.

Though the disciples of the Gu God Star had departed, the army's numbers had not decreased but grown, now exceeding 500, nearly all of them elites.

"Such overwhelming might descending upon the Extreme Yin Star, which only has nine people—the Young Dragon Lord is being a bit extravagant, like a lion hunting a rabbit," a young man clad in blood-red garments said.

He had long, blood-red hair that seemed to drip, and his skin was pale. His thick hair resembled barbed vines, giving him an eerie appearance.

A vigorous demonic aura emanated from him, marking him not as human or devil, but as a demon.

Among this army of over 500 prodigies, he was clearly one of the foremost figures, respected by many.

He was the Bloodvine Young Master.

Behind him stood the Bloodvine Demon Grotto—a world belonging to the Bloodvine Life Demons. The entire star was blood-red, with countless seas of blood. From these seas, Bloodvine Life Demons were born, the invincible overlords of that demon grotto.

Such a place was one that many humans and devils dared not approach.

This Bloodvine Young Master was the supreme genius of the Bloodvine Demon Grotto, his status comparable to Lei Ting. He was also a future talent destined to reach the Eighth Baptism Realm.

"What the Young Dragon Lord seeks is absolute certainty," another figure beside the Bloodvine Young Master said.

From the voice, one could tell it was a woman. Yet she stood eight feet tall, burly and imposing, clad in battle armor with knotted muscles and long hair tied into a bundle.

Her features were unique—a high nose bridge and slightly sunken eyes. It was clear she was a type of devil, but compared to Thunder Devils and the like, she was more pleasing to the eye. The power emanating from her was yin and cold, bearing an aura similar to Feng Yao.

In fact, this type of devil, known as the Nether Devil, was indeed similar in bloodline to the Yin Devil. Both being yin and cold devils, the difference was that the Nether Devil had stronger flesh and combat talent, unlike the Yin Devil who was more ornamental.

The Nether Devil woman conversing with the Bloodvine Young Master stood tall and stern. Though a woman, her aura was fierce and unyielding, exuding a heroic valor and formidable presence. She looked every bit like a natural-born goddess of war.

Her name was easy to remember—Ah Jiao—a name typical of those from the Nether Divine Star.

Despite its simplicity, Ah Jiao was, like the Bloodvine Young Master, among the foremost figures following the Young Dragon Lord. Her status was on par with Bai Lu's, and she commanded over 20 Nether Devils. ȐΆɴóBƐṣ

"It's not just about leaving nothing to chance," the Bloodvine Young Master said, turning to gaze at the ten-foot-tall figure radiating imperial dragon might at the center of the crowd. "He wants to use this overwhelming battle to show the world that those who follow the righteous path gain widespread support, while those who stray are abandoned. The Southern Divine Dragon Realm is the destined mandate of heaven..."

Ah Jiao turned her gaze as well. Her dark violet eyes settled on the Young Dragon Lord, who held Shen Nanyin—the Young Dragon Consort—by the waist. He exuded a grand aura, like one who commanded the world when awake and rested upon a beauty's knee when drunk.

To cultivate this atmosphere, the Young Dragon Lord treated Shen Nanyin exceptionally well before the battle. The couple laughed and chatted, teasing and bantering like a celestial pair, drawing envious glances.

This behavior made those familiar with the Young Dragon Lord's character—like the Bloodvine Young Master and Ah Jiao—feel as if they hardly recognized him.

"Can't deny it—the masses are each trapped in their own delusions. If he keeps up the act long enough, it might just become reality," the Bloodvine Young Master murmured.

"Are you dissatisfied? Your tone seems off," Ah Jiao glanced at him.

"Not really," he shook his head.

They fell silent, thoughts drifting back to the earlier incident with Bai Lu.

Bai Lu was a mutual friend; they had met through her introduction.

"We're about to make our move. Let's not dwell on it," the Bloodvine Young Master said.

"By the way, where's Gusu Yan?" Ah Jiao asked.

"Over there," he pointed.

He gestured toward a blue-robed youth with an imposing demeanor and a heroic spirit, appearing both refined and cultured.

"He fancies Bai Lu. It seems the Comet Immortal Gate and Gu God Star are considering a marriage alliance." Ah Jiao, despite her cold exterior, was keen on this bit of gossip.

"But after what just happened, if the Southern Divine Dragon Realm suppresses the Gu God Star, that marriage might fall through," the Bloodvine Young Master said.

"On the Immortal path, we often can't control our own fate," Ah Jiao chuckled.

"Hmm?" The Bloodvine Young Master pointed beside Gusu Yan. "Who's that white-robed youth talking with him? He looks familiar."

Ah Jiao looked over and shook her head. "I don't recognize him."

"Probably a righteous fellow who joined us along the way," he chuckled, a hint of self-mockery in his voice.

In their view, Gusu Yan had also just noticed the unfamiliar white-robed youth and initiated a conversation.

He asked the white-robed youth, "Did you just join us?"

The white-robed youth nodded with a smile. "Yes, Brother Gusu."

He glanced around the group, appearing entirely at ease, as if he had suddenly appeared among them, traveling alone.

"May I ask who you are?" Gusu Yan inquired.

"I am Yun Xiao," the white-robed youth replied, clasping his hands in greeting.

"Yun Xiao?" Gusu Yan paused, the name striking a familiar chord. It felt as if he'd heard it somewhere before. He pressed on, "Brother Yun, which celestial sect do you belong to?"

Before he could get an answer, the white-robed youth smiled and patted his shoulder. "Brother Gusu, I have some matters to attend to. Let's chat next time."

With that, he turned and strolled leisurely through the ranks of 500 righteous and fervent geniuses, moving as if on a casual walk.

"Who is that fellow? Quite peculiar," the Bloodvine Young Master said as he approached Gusu Yan, his brow furrowed in confusion.

"No idea. He said his name was Yun Xiao. I thought he might be from the Elysian Immortal Palace. But judging by his aura, that doesn't seem likely," Gusu Yan replied.

"Definitely not. Disciples of the Elysian Immortal Palace wouldn't dare take the name Yun Xiao," Ah Jiao added, shaking her head as she joined them.

They had other concerns weighing on their minds and didn't ponder further, turning their attention to the Young Dragon Lord.

At that moment, the Young Dragon Lord, solemn and imposing, his golden dragon robe billowing, stepped to the forefront of the 500-strong army of geniuses. He basked in their admiring and reverent gazes, like an emperor of a bygone era, exuding vast divine might.

"The Young Dragon Lord is about to give the order to attack!"

Gusu Yan, the Bloodvine Young Master, Ah Jiao, and the other humans, demons, and devils turned to gaze upon the majestic figure of the Young Dragon Lord, a hint of awe in their eyes.

The army brimmed with fervor. Eyes burned bright; battle intent surged!

A crushing battle was on the verge of erupting.

"Yun Xiao... Yun Xiao..." Gusu Yan muttered, the name echoing in his mind.

Suddenly, a chill ran down his spine.

"What's the matter?" the Bloodvine Young Master asked, puzzled. "It's just the Harmony Divine Palace; what's got you so spooked?"

"Yun Xiao!" Gusu Yan exclaimed through gritted teeth. "Isn't that the name of the celestial slave from the Harmony Divine Palace?"

"Damn," the Bloodvine Young Master muttered as realization dawned, stunned on the spot.

Everyone had been shouting celestial slave, eunuch dog, and castrate. So, his real name hadn't left a strong impression.

Even Ah Jiao was momentarily stunned. None of them had imagined that the celestial slave, taking advantage of the fact that few had seen him, would dare to impersonate a righteous warrior, swagger into their ranks, and even openly announce his name to Gusu Yan.

What kind of audacity was this? It was sheer madness! Most of these 500 geniuses had come from afar and had never seen Yun Xiao.

Had Yang Yang, Liu Liu, or other close followers of the Young Dragon Lord near the Extreme Yin Star been present, they would have recognized him at a glance.

"What is he planning?"

Though the three were shocked, they didn't feel particularly anxious; they were merely here to support the Young Dragon Lord, not the main players.

As they turned back in confusion, a scream suddenly erupted from the middle of the army!

That scream directly drowned out the impassioned declaration the Young Dragon Lord had been preparing.

At the front of the crowd, the giant with golden dragon horns frowned, his eyes blazing as he turned back coldly.

Under his gaze, the crowd instantly parted.

The Young Dragon Lord jerked his head up. When he saw what was happening behind him, his pupils shrank abruptly, and a murderous aura instantly clouded his face.

"What happened?"

Everyone's fervor and heroic spirit were interrupted as they all turned to look toward the center.

They saw the Young Dragon Consort, Shen Nanyin, her face pale, her tall figure trembling slightly. Her expression was one of sheer terror, eyes brimming with tears, pitiful to behold.

The azure Heaven Burial Sword Soul lay across her jade-like neck. Though the Sword Soul was only three inches long, it bore over 400 Sword Prisons, emitting countless rays of light, clearly capable of easily slicing through the Young Dragon Consort's snow-white neck.

Behind her stood a youth who appeared diminutive compared to her. Holding the sword in one hand to seize her, his other hand pressed a Life Sigil onto her forehead. The sigil transformed into a nine-headed Prison Warden Dao Dragon, forming nine purple dragon patterns like chains that extended from her forehead downward, locking her body entirely.

At this moment, the Young Dragon Consort, head tilted back, was held captive in the embrace of the white-robed youth. Her figure was bound and sealed by the Prison Warden Sigil. Her fearful and anxious trembling drew everyone's attention.

The white-robed youth's remarkably handsome face rested against her shoulder.

In contrast to the Young Dragon Consort's charming yet panic-stricken visage, his face appeared smaller, like a boy on his mother's back. But one had to admit, that cold expression—with a hint of mockery and an air of total control—was indeed striking.

He looked at the Young Dragon Lord, a slight smile on his face. But the Heaven Burial Sword Soul in his hand left faint scorch marks on Shen Nanyin's snow-white neck, causing her to let out whimpers of pain.
